About Us

The Dreamers.

Jolene’s Dream is a charitable organization, created in honour of Jolene Kuepfer, who lived with anorexia for 20 years. In the midst of her struggle, she held on to a powerful dream: to build a place where women with eating disorders could heal alongside horses. Today, her dream continues through programs that carry forward her values of hope and courage.

Our Story

Why Horses?

Horses have a unique ability to connect with people on an emotional level. Research into equine-assisted therapy has shown powerful benefits for those recovering from eating disorders:

  • Emotional Awareness & Regulation –Horses are highly attuned to body language and energy. This sensitivity helps participants build self-awareness and practice emotional regulation.

  • Trust & Connection – Interacting with horses can foster trust, confidence, and relational healing, often in ways that feel safer than traditional talk therapy.

  • Reconnecting with the Body –Gentle, hands-on care such as grooming and leading encourages presence, grounding, and compassionate reconnection with one’s body.

  • Empowerment & Courage – Working with such strong, intuitive animals requires bravery, which can build confidence and resilience. Our Mission & Vision

Mission: To provide equine wellness programs for women experiencing eating disorders — creating a space of healing, safety, and renewal.

Vision: A future where women affected by eating disorders can access compassionate, holistic support that honors their strength and courage.
